Southampton will send a scout to Turkey tonight to watch the game between Besiktas and Lyon. It’s been claimed Southampton will be getting a lowdown on Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup.

CNN Turkey have reported Southampton will be present at the Europa League quarter final clash, and will be joined by Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke 04, Hannover, Stuttgart, Wolfsburg, PSV, Twente and Anderlecht.

It’s been reported Southampton could be looking to move in on Ozyakup due to the Turkey international’s contract expiring next summer. Southampton are others could take advantage of the situation and sign Ozyakup for cheaper than they’d otherwise be able to.

Manager Claude Puel will be looking to strengthen his squad in the next window, and the former Arsenal youth player could be an option. However, it must be noted English interest in Ozyakup has been talked up in Turkey recently, and it could all be an effort to get the player a better renewal offer from Besiktas.
