Bartlomiej Dragowski started this season as Fiorentina’s starting goalkeeper, but managed to get himself a red card in the first match of the campaign.
After suspension he returned to the team, and then picked up a hamstring injury in October. He wasn’t available again until January and since then has spent the majority of his time on the bench for La Viola.
The 24-year-old’s contract expires in June 2023, and decision time is coming over his future. Firenze Viola report Southampton are keen on signing him, along with Napoli and Borussia Dortmund.
The feeling around the club is that an exit is increasingly on the cards for Dragowski, which would be good news for Southampton interest, as he’s gone from being an absolute certainty in the team to a ‘luxury reserve’.
Whether Southampton would be looking at him for first or second choice isn’t clear, and the likelihood of regular football will surely be a factor in the player’s decision making this summer.
