The Italian media today reveals Southampton’s interest in Salernitana winger Loum Tchaouna.

The story comes from TuttoSalernitana, who highlights that the 20-year-old could be involved in a big transfer this summer, as he’s wanted by Lazio and ‘many teams in Europe’.

Among the clubs who’d like to take him abroad, there’s Southampton.

With the Saints just being promoted to the Premier League, they find themselves in the opposite situation to Salernitana, who’ve just been relegated to Serie B.

That means Tchaouna could end up being a great market opportunity for Southampton, as the Italian side are willing to get rid of several players this summer.

For now, however, there’s no information on whether the Saints made any contact or bids for the transfer so far.

Tchaouna had six goals and four assists in 35 appearances for Salernitana this season and had already been linked with a Premier League move recently, as Brighton & Hove Albion were claimed to be interested in him.

Salernitana spent €3m to sign him from Rennes last summer, and according to TuttoSalernitana, an €8m offer would make his transfer ‘almost certain’ now.
