Southampton are the latest club to become interested in signing SC Braga striker Vitinha, according to claims from the Portuguese media.
Newspaper Record writes the Saints now have the 22-year-old ‘on their agenda’ of ‘potential targets’ for the summer transfer window.
The player has 13 goals and four assists for Braga this season, and that was apparently enough to draw interest from several European sides in the past few months.
The report claims that Southampton have joined a list which already includes the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Brentford, Fiorentina and others.
Vitinha is currently protected by a contract running until 2024 with a release clause worth €30m.
Even though they don’t seem to know exactly how much Braga would demand for a sale, it’s claimed that club president Antonio Salvador will certainly not make the striker’s departure easy, as the club want to protect their young talents.
So with such competition and his club’s wish to keep him, Southampton better be aware that they’ll need to spend big to land the Portuguese player this summer.
