We thought the rumours linking Rafael Santos Borré to Premier League sides were dead, but the Colombian media has reawakened them this week.
Fox Sports Colombia claims Everton may be back for the River Plate star, and could make an offer to take him to England in January.
The Toffees are said to be interested in paying the striker’s €15m release clause, with no need to negotiate with the Argentine giants.
Along with manager Carlo Ancelotti, Borré would be one of the pieces that Everton are trying to bring in so they can recover from the bad start of the season.
Earlier this month, the Argentine media said River Plate had no reason to sell Borré, since their finances are fine. However, if the Toffees decide to trigger the release clause, there’s not a lot they can do about it.
Everton have a lot of attention from the Colombian media because of Yerry Mina, so this is a story which gets even more attention.
