On Tuesday morning, AS picked up English claims about Real Madrid interest in Christian Eriksen.
The story went that Daniel Levy had slapped a €250m price tag on the Denmark international, which had scared Real Madrid off, but now there was hope that a deal could be done for around €100m.
AS didn’t really add much and pointed out that Madrid have a lot of faith in Dani Ceballos and want to see how he progresses after a kick forward so far this season. The 22 year old had been signed from Real Betis with the idea he could be Luka Modric’s long term successor, and, besides, there are others in the squad who can ‘take the baton’.
It was more talking things down rather than hyping it up.
Then the same Spanish newspaper changed their tune, with another article published which claims: ‘AS has been informed that Real Madrid have been talking to the London club over the past months with a move to the Spanish capital a possibility next summer.’
Despite that, it’s once again explained that Madrid want to play a ‘waiting game’ and have put a lot of faith in Ceballos.
