Adolfo Gaich has been the subject of transfer rumours for some months now.
In March we covered claims Arsenal were among a large group of clubs keen on the striker, and he was compared to Robert Lewandowksi in style.
The 20 year old stands at 6’3” and has been catching attention. Along with the Gunners, Inter Milan, Lazio and Barcelona were also said to be taking a look.
This week Everton were strongly pulled into the picture. The Merseyside club have been linked to a few South Americans recently, and there could be intermediaries trying to build deals on their behalf.
Marca’s Argentina outlet reported Everton were impressed by Gaich’s performances at the U20 World Cup, and would be ready to trigger his release clause at San Lorenzo.
Marco Silva’s side were presented as being keen on a quick deal, and the US$15m fee isn’t considered an issue.
Now the youngster has been asked about an offer from Everton and he doesn’t sound too upset about the idea. Argentina’s Ole quote him as saying: “Playing in Europe is something any player dreams of, the best league is the English one for my taste, also the Italian and the German.”
Gaich hasn’t heard anything directly from Everton, and isn’t in a hurry to rush into a move without first assessing his footballing options, not wanting to waste months out of the picture.
Meanwhile, Yerry Mina’s agent, speaking to A Spor, has rubbished claims the defender could move to Turkey this summer, saying he’s not leaving Goodison Park.
