Earlier on Thursday, we covered a story from Italy claiming that Manchester United had made a €100m+ bid for Victor Osimhen.
This came because his agent in Italy, Roberto Calenda, had reportedly held a secret meeting with Napoli’s owner Aurelio de Laurentiis.
The €100m+ offer was said to be ‘undeniable’, and it was said to have put Manchester United ’in an advantageous position’ for any auction that would take place for the Nigeria international.
This all falls in line with what Corriere dello Sport are reporting on Thursday, explaining that the €100m that Newcastle reportedly offered in January was the ‘starting point’ of any negotiation.
In fact, their charm is ‘stifling’, but it will all be down to Erik ten Hag, set to take over from Ralf Rangnick at the end of the season, as the green light from his end ‘must be verified’.
Either way, Corriere dello Sport explain ‘something is moving’.
Right now, both Manchester United and the Gunners are ‘the dreams that Osimhen is cultivating’, aware that ‘something can and maybe will happen’ this summer regarding his future, because ‘in the face of certain offers, it is forbidden to resist’.
