Real Madrid welcome Real Betis on Sunday evening which for the Madrid media means a closer look at the Betis side. Ahead of the match Riza Durmisi has been speaking and the 23 year old detailed his admiration for Madrid.
AS quote the left back as saying: “I always followed Zinedine Zidane, who is my great reference as a player. But when he retired I stayed with who is best in the world in my position, Marcelo.”
Denmark international Durmisi was speaking in English. He only moved from Brondby in the summer, and is more comfortable in English than in Spanish. That’s a bonus for Liverpool, who are reportedly interested in the player.
In January it was reported in Spain that Jurgen Klopp is looking to ship Alberto Moreno out and bring a replacement in, with Durmisi one of the possibilities. Several scouting reports had been obtained and Liverpool were said to be considering a summer move.
AS describe Durmisi as ‘short, powerful, and very fast’ and the fullback has already managed to make an impact at Betis. In his past five games, Durmisi has accumulated a goal, an assist and a Man of the Match award.
Should Liverpool wish to secure the player in the summer then they can do so for his release clause of €20m, which is around £17.5m.
