Tottenham Hotspur and AS Roma could be ready for something of a managerial swap this summer, even if it has been a prolonged event.
Claims coming out of Italy on Wednesday evening state Paulo Fonseca is ‘ready’ to become manager of the Premier League club.
The manager left AS Roma at the end of last season, having been replaced in advance by Jose Mourinho. The latter had of course been shown the door by Tottenham earlier.
Spurs have subsequently been linked with a number of options, and last week it was strongly reported Antonio Conte was the man set to take over, before the move collapsed.
Now, Gianluca Di Marzio and Sky Italia report Fonseca is ‘ready’ to take the Tottenham job.
The Italian media are quickly taking it to be a sign that Fonseca is one step away from taking the job at the London club.
Di Marzio has quickly followed it up by saying Fonseca is set to get a three year Spurs contract.
Fabio Paratici was seen in Milan this evening, and with the football director expected to take a role at Tottenham, he may have made the trip to seal a manager.
