Sheffield Wednesday have been sending scouts to watch Belenenses matches since 2016.
The Championship club ramped up their Portuguese scouting under Carlos Carvalhal and have continued since the manager exited the club.
Usually, even though a lot of the players would be out of reach financially, Sheffield Wednesday watch the biggest clubs, those being Benfica, Sporting and Porto.
One of those was in action on Saturday, Benfica, but they faced a shock 2-0 defeat away to Belenenses.
And it’s the latter who Wednesday would appear to watch more than any other smaller club in Liga Nos. This isn’t the first time the club have watched Belenenses in action even this season, with at least two other trips during the current campaign.
A Bola publish the scouting report and they don’t claim to know of any target Sheffield Wednesday could be looking at specifically.
Other clubs transfer window shopping at the match were Manchester United, Arsenal, Inter Milan, Genoa, Eintracht Frankfurt and Le Havre.
