On Monday, We covered news from France’s RMC Sport, who claimed Celtic’s Moussa Dembele is ‘seduced’ by the idea of playing for Marseille and the Bhoys are ‘ready to talk’ about the transfer.
According to France Football, the 22-year-old Celtic star has emerged as a transfer target for the Ligue 1 outfit after they failed to secure the services of Nice striker Mario Balotelli. Their intention to recruit the former Fulham man is ‘concrete’ and they are looking at ‘several options’ in securing his services.
The first option is a player plus cash deal as Rudi Garcia’s side are ready to allow Valere Germain to move in the opposite direction. Celtic value him around €15-20m.
Germain has joined Clinton Njie in attracting interest from other clubs in the French league and the second option is to offload them and then sign Dembele. The last one would be to take the forward on loan with a mandatory option to sign him on a permanent deal.
It should be seen if Brendan Rodgers’ side would be open to the idea of taking any of these options or prefer to keep Dembele at Celtic Park.
