Fenerbahce say reports linking them with a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko are not true.

Last night, Bein Sports Turkey claimed Fenerbahce have an agreement with Tottenham for the signature of Sissoko and that the Frenchman has said yes to the move.

Former Fenerbahce legend and famous TV pundit Ridvan Dilmen also claimed during the halftime show of Galatasaray v Alanyaspor a deal for Sissoko had been done. However, after the game, Dilmen said the deal had fallen through.

Following these claims Fenerbahce have released an official statement regarding the reports linking them with the Tottenham man as covered by NTV: “It’s not true that we have agreed on a deal to sign Moussa Sissoko from Tottenham. We’ve never had any contact with Tottenham, the player and his agent.”

With some sections of the Turkish media saying a deal is done it will be interesting to see if he heads to Istanbul in the coming days, which would mean the club hadn’t been straight with their public statement.

Time will tell.
