Despite having Keylor Navas at the club, Real Madrid have decided to bring in a new goalkeeper and have identified AS Roma’s Alisson Becker as a target.
According to the French publication RMC Sport, Real Madrid have watched the Brazilian in action on several occasions. They have been impressed with his displays and he has been appreciated by the Spanish capital club’s back-room staff.
It’s well documented that Alisson could leave Roma and Italy in the summer transfer window. Madrid are looking at the option of securing the stopper’s services and “several meetings took place” between the La Liga giants and the player’s entourage.
Alisson’s current contract at Roma runs down in 2021 and is valued at €70m. The Italian club has no intention to sanction their star player’s sale this summer. RMC Sport’s Mohamed Bouhafsi is a reliable journalist and he claims that Real will make an “offer without further delay” for the Serie A goalkeeper.
It should be seen whether Roma will be able to hold on to Alisson, despite firm interest from Real. Liverpool were also linked with the 25-year-old and the South American star admitted the rumours surrounding his future makes him happy.
Keylor Navas is currently Real Madrid’s number one and hasn’t been playing poorly, with Zinedine Zidane said to be committed to the player. If Spanish reports are to be believed, Florentino Perez fancies a new goalkeeper, but will face opposition from his manager.
