West Ham United have confirmed that David Moyes will leave at the end of this season, and various claims have stated Julen Lopetegui is set to replace the Scot at the London club.

Earlier this week, some reports from the UK stated the Hammers are interested in Assane Diao and could make an offer, which could be studied by Real Betis.

This is relayed by Estadio Deportivo, who then give their own take on the possibility of the 18-year-old joining West Ham.

Without wasting any time, the outlet has dismissed West Ham making an approach for the winger in the next window. It’s claimed there is ‘no such movement’ from the Hammers to sign Diao because he isn’t on their agenda at all.

In addition to this, the La Liga side have ‘serious doubts’ whether the attacker will change clubs after this season. That’s because the Spain U21 international, who has made 18 league appearances this season, has lost prominence since the start of February.

Diao has been restricted to two substitute appearances in the last 13 league games. This would have impacted his valuation, which may be why Manuel Pellegrini’s side are also not considering selling him in the summer.

In short, West Ham haven’t made an approach for Diao, and as of now he will continue at Real Betis next season.
