Liverpool would have to make a decision on Stefan Bajčetić’s future, according to Sport.

The midfielder missed most of this season due to a calf injury and regained full fitness in April.

Bajčetić made his return to the pitch in Liverpool’s league win over Tottenham at the start of this month, and it was his third appearance of this season.

The 19-year-old made his first team debut in August 2022 and has made 22 appearances for Liverpool so far. His opportunities were hindered, first by an adductor injury he suffered in March 2023, which ruled him for the rest of the 2022/23 season.

Sport state the ‘worst was yet to come’ for the Spain U21 international, when he suffered a calf injury earlier in the season. The midfielder’s entourage were expecting him to return at the start of this year, but that didn’t happen.

It’s claimed he had to change his diet and training methods to ‘compensate for the upper and lower body’, and it was vital in his recovery, which has allowed him to feel ‘like a player again’. The Spaniard is ‘back and Liverpool are smiling’.

The newspaper adds Jürgen Klopp ‘gets his spoiled child back’, but that won’t be for long since the manager will leave Anfield after this season and Arne Slot will replace him.

Bajčetić’s deal lasts until 2027 and with regards to his future, Sport state ‘everything will depend’ on Slot and whether or not he can impress during the pre-season.
