Last month, reports coming out of the Turkish press stated that, during a trip to London, Galatasaray chief Erden Timur held talks with Tottenham Hotspur over a potential deal for Victor Nelsson.
The Turkish side have already secured the title and are focusing on transfers to be carried out in the summer window.
According to Takvim, the 24-year-old is one of the players ‘expected to leave’ the club and Tottenham are named as a suitor.
It’s claimed Spurs have their eyes on the Denmark international and are his ‘most serious buyer’. The centre-back is believed to be ‘suitable’ for the Premier League because of his ‘warrior identity and quickness’.
The defender’s deal lasts until 2026 and has a €25m release clause. The Süper Lig winners aren’t ready to let him leave for less than the figure mentioned in the clause.
Tottenham are keen to land the player and can take him for €25m in the summer. With Nelsson likely to leave after this season, Galatasaray have identified Southampton’s Mohammed Salisu as a target to replace him.
