Alexis Sanchez to Juventus is a story the Italian media refuse to let go, and stories of a possible move are starting to become a daily occurrence.
In their Wednesday edition, Tuttosport give us the pleasure of what they think could be happening, and it’s fairly simple: Max Allegri, Juventus’ manager, really wants the Chilean star at his club, and his board really want to please the man they have placed in charge of their beloved team.
Of course, Arsenal’s official stance on the matter remains the same in that Alexis Sanchez is not for sale at this moment in time, but Tuttosport reckon that could change if the Premier League club make a big acquisition.
The obvious one here would be a move for Gonzalo Higuain, but the Italian newspaper also decided to bring the Karim Benzema rumour back from the dead as a possible option for Arsène Wenger.
If we go along with what they’re saying (and we’re not quite ready to believe them just yet), then Arsenal wouldn’t accept anything below what they paid for Sanchez in the first place, which is a reported €42.5m (£35.8m).
That Juventus want Sanchez is nothing new, and they can want him all they want, but Arsenal really don’t need to sell, even if they do buy big this summer, meaning we’d be very, very surprised if the Chilean star was on the move in the next couple of months.
