Celtic and Burnley have been joined by Manchester City in keeping tabs on Bologna’s Aaron Hickey.
The 19-year-old attracted attention from European clubs when he was with Scottish side, Heart of Midlothian, with Manchester City the latest to show an interest.
This is according to a latest report from Calciomercato, who explain AC Milan and Bayern Munich were keen on acquiring the teenager’s services. The Bundesliga winners even invited him to visit their training facilities.
However, neither of them assured Hickey a plan to make it to their first team, which is why he ended up joining Bologna in 2020.
Operating as a left-back, the Scot made 11 appearances in his debut season in Italy. He has been a regular this season, featuring 20 times [mainly as a wing-back] and scoring five goals in the process.
Hickey’s fine displays for Siniša Mihajlović has helped him ‘end up in the sights’ of Celtic, Burnley and City. The Bhoys and the Premier League duo will be joined by the Rossoneri in the chase as the report adds Milan chief Paolo Maldini ‘continues to keep an eye’ on the player.
