According to a claim in the Italian media, Cagliari are interested in Stoke City defender Moritz Bauer ahead of the next transfer window.

The 27 year old could leave Stoke City this summer after they failed to get promotion back to the Premier League.

TMW have reported on the future of the Austrian right back and they say Cagliari, along with Real Betis, Lille and Zenit St Petersburg have all approached Stoke City with regards to the player.

All four clubs will be looking to strengthen their squads this summer and it seems the former Rubin Kazan player is an option.

It’s claimed the Championship club are open to sending Bauer out on loan next season after he found his chances limited this season. The defender has played just eleven games for the English in all competitions in this campaign.

Bauer signed for Stoke during the 2018 winter transfer window and is contracted to the club until June 2023.
