Qatari club Al Rayyan had today quite a big announcement to make, as they finally confirmed the arrival of James Rodriguez from Everton.

The Colombian star, who was looking for a way out of Goodison Park, found most transfer windows closing, and ended up accepting a transfer to the Middle East.

Now it turns out Rodriguez may not stay there for long, because according to a report from AS, there’s a ‘secret clause’ which may have a big impact on his future.

Journalist Manu Sainz reveals that the 30-year-old’s contract with Al Rayyan includes an agreement which says the player can break the deal to join Paris Saint Germain.

Sainz points out that PSG’s owners are Qatari and will follow Rodriguez’ performances at his new club very closely.

In case they get impressed with his form, then the midfielder could end up in France very soon.

Despite claiming Rodriguez is signing a three-year deal, the report doesn’t make it clear if the clause can be triggered in January or in the summer.

It’s just said that the midfielder could walk from Al Rayyan in case the French side choose to sign him.
