Earlier today, we saw reports from Italy saying West Ham have had an offer for AS Roma goalkeeper Pau Lopez turned down.
It was claimed that the player didn’t want to leave the Serie A side, so both he and the Giallorossi blocked the move to the Premier League club.
Now it’s time for Calcio Mercato to bring a similar update. They report that an intermediary has tried to put Roma in contact with ‘a few English clubs’ for the move of Pau Lopez a few days ago, and the Hammers were one of these clubs.
The talks, however, didn’t have any progress, as the Spaniard himself made sure to stop any chances of a transfer.
Calcio Mercato says Lopez doesn’t want to leave Roma before June, and said ‘no’ to the possibility of joining the Hammers.
The report adds that West Ham had recently ‘probed the ground’ for Thomas Strakosha from Lazio, although there isn’t any information on how that attempt went.
Pau Lopez was initially Roma’s goalkeeper for the Europa League this season, and has only been getting more playing time now due to the injury of Antonio Mirante.
Thomas Strakosha, on the other hand, started the season with a place in Lazio’s team, but injuries and Coronavirus ended up seeing him replaced at the Serie A side.
