On Tuesday, Tuttosport came out with claims disputing the fact Manchester United saw Federico Chiesa as their alternative for Jadon Sancho.
In their eyes, that man was the other Federico (Bernardeschi), currently playing at Juventus under Maurizio Sarri.
They claimed that Manchester United were ‘knocking’ on the Serie A side’s door to find out a bit more about transfer conditions for the Italian, only to be met with silence for the time being as the Italians haven’t put him on the market.
That being said, Tuttosport did suggest that an offer worth €35m or more would need to be taken into consideration.
Well, Calciomercato on Wednesday back most of this up with their own article on the matter citing information they collected.
They confirm Bernardeschi is on the list of players Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co. are considering to bolster their attack, but isn’t necessarily an ‘alternative’.
That’s why United have ‘started to take information’, but have yet to start ‘concrete negotiations’ with either the Italian club or the player’s entourage.
As they put it, the Premier League club like the 26-year-old, but a lot will depend on how the season ends, and the next two months are likely to be ‘decisive to clarify Juventus’ plans’ and ‘define the future’ with the Italy international.
