Earlier today, we relayed news from AS, who claimed Samu Saiz could leave Leeds United in the ‘coming days’ and make a switch to Getafe.
It was mentioned the Spanish club are initially planning to take the attacking midfielder in the winter market on a temporary deal with an option to make it permanent.
AS are not the only publication talking about the 27-year-old’s potential move to the La Liga as France Football and L’Equipe are also backing claims made by the Spanish newspaper.
According to to the two French publications, Getafe are interested in Marcelo Bielsa’s player and want to take him on loan with a purchase option and the deal is expected to be completed soon – in the ‘next few days’.
It’s unusual for French sources to be running this, and the assumption would be it’s come via an agent contact.
Having arrived at Elland Road from Huesca in 2017 for €3.5m, AS’ report mentioned the Championship side are reluctant to part ways with the Spaniard, but there is no mention of the same in France Football or L’Equipe.
Saiz is yet to open his Championship goalscoring account this season, but has registered four assists in 19 appearances.
