Second good German source backs up Huddersfield appointment, speaks to Jan Siewert for comment

Whenever anything happens with Borussia Dortmund, the most reliable, and calmest, German media covering it is Ruhr Nachrichten.

They’re not tabloid and don’t jump headfirst into rumours, so if they say something is about to happen it’s generally because it is.

Therefore, after we covered SportBild claims that Jan Siewert is about to become Huddersfield Town manager in exchange for €300k compensation, it made sense to check out what they’re saying.

Ruhr Nahcrichten also report the 36 year old is on the verge of taking over at the Premier League club, indeed they say the move is ‘almost perfect’ which would suggest confirmation can’t be too far away.

They make a point of saying this is according to their own information, and explain that today Siewert was still coaching Dortmund’s second string.

When approached for comment on the move, he said: “I’m concentrated fully on my job at Borussia Dortmund.”

That shouldn’t be taken as a negative. Ruhr Nachrichten are there, they’ve spoken to the man today, and are convinced he’s about to take the Huddersfield job.
