The Argentine media is today full of stories about Marcos Rojo, as the Manchester United defender could be announced by Boca Juniors at any time now.
It’s been a few weeks since the rumours about this transfer started, as the player wasn’t getting any playing time in England and has been in Argentina since the Christmas holidays.
Now with the move practically done, there’s someone who claims to have known about it since the start of the year. That’s Argentine streamer Joaquin Lopez.
As reported by El Intransigente, the influencer posted on his Twitter account, which has over 400k followers, some screenshots of a conversation he had with Marcos Rojo.
In a chat which dates back to the 4th of January, the Manchester United player is seen saying: ‘It’s almost closed. There’s a little left and I’ll stay here. Stay quiet and we see each other at the Bombonera.’Joaquin Lopez later deleted the tweet, which may be a sign that Marcos Rojo didn’t like having this conversation going public.
The Manchester United defender is expected to have a medical with Boca Juniors today and sign a two-year contract with the Buenos Aires side.
