Manchester United’s Antony has been warned he risks getting ‘sawn off at the ankles’ if he continues to demonstrate his Brazilian flair.
The forward began life at Old Trafford with a bang over the weekend, scoring his first goal for United in the 3-1 win over Arsenal.
Rather than needing time to adjust he appeared to settle to life in the Premier League straight away, with his goal accompanied by a display of attacking quality and trickery.
One particular moment saw him outmanoeuvre two Arsenal players with a piece of flamboyant trickery, flicking the ball out of a corner when surrounded to maintain a Manchester United attack.
That naturally earned him plenty of plaudits after the game, particularly among Manchester United fans, who were eager to see their new big-name signing in action and impressed by what they saw.
It seems, though, not all are impressed and one of those is Hen ten Cate, who believes the player risks annoying opponents.
“He is not really at the top yet,” Voetbal Primeur report him saying.
“I measure that by the return what he had in the Dutch league (18 goals and 14 assists in 57 games). That’s a bit disappointing.
“In England, you get sawn off at your your ankles. If I was his coach, I would tell him to stop doing that (dribbling).”
