Striker Salomón Rondón is the ‘main target’ for Spanish side Las Palmas in the January transfer window following the termination of his contract at Everton.

The Venezuelan striker left Everton four days ago after he and the Blues agreed to terminate his contract with mutual effect.

That agreement brought an end to miserable 18 months at Goodison Park, during which he managed to score just three goals under Rafa Benitez and Frank Lampard.

He is now on the hunt for a new club, with several reports making it clear that he wants to remain in Europe and compete at the highest level possible so he can keep his international career alive.

Las Palmas may now be willing to offer him that, with Canarias 7, via Pasion Amarilla, reporting that Rondón is their ‘main target’ next month.

They report that the former Everton man is the ‘focus of all Luis Helguera’s efforts’, with the Spanish side seemingly willing to make a move to sign him.

They’re not put off by his time at Goodison Park and now appear to be ready to offer the 33-year-old an immediate return to football following his departure from Merseyside.
