As another summer  transfer market approaches, we will soon see Tiemoué Bakayoko back at Chelsea with some big doubts surrounding his future.

Loaned to Napoli until the end of the season, the midfielder has been failing to impress at the Serie A side, and the Italian press continues to be certain that he’ll end up back at the Stamford Bridge.

Tutto Mercato Web features a story today explaining that Bakayoko should have a chance to start against Lazio tomorrow, but that doesn’t mean his club will reconsider his signing.

The website says the Frenchman’s future is ‘marked’, as Napoli are not buying him for three reasons: the football he’s shown at the club, the price for his transfer, and ‘above all his salary’.

Signed by Chelsea on a €40m deal back in 2018, Bakayoko only had one season to prove himself for the Blues.

Since then, he’s had loan spells at Milan, Monaco and Napoli, and never managed to be fully convincing in any of these clubs.

Since his contract with the Stamford Bridge side expires in 2022, there’s a feeling the club will now force a sale in the coming months to avoid losing him for free in the next year.

Another year, another Bakayoko headache Marina Granovskaia has to deal with.
