Leeds United youngster Elia Caprile has been hailed as the ‘goalkeeper of miracles’ for his performances while on loan at Italian side Pro Patria.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper joined the Serie C side on loan from Leeds U23s in August last year and has been a regular for them this season with 37 appearances in all competitions to date.

He’s kept 12 clean sheets and conceded 41 goals in the league this season, and while those numbers may not be all too exciting, they’ve earned him plenty of praise.

Informazione Online cover the Leeds youngster today, labelling him as the ‘goalkeeper of miracles’ and adding that Pro Patria ‘owe a lot’ to Elia this season.

In fact, he’s ‘Saint Elia’ as far as they’re concerned.

They say that Pro Patria sitting 11th would have been ‘more complicated’ without his saves this season.

The goalkeeper is described as having a ‘steely will’ and a ‘powerful intuition’ when it comes to penalties, and it would be ‘useless’ to hide the fact that he has been key to Pro Patria being 15 points clear of the bottom of the table.

The Leeds man has reportedly left observers ‘struck’ by the manner in which he assumes responsibility and then pairs this with big performances.

Those displays have everyone ‘counting on him’ and making them ‘forget his age’ while the results have left fans being able to ‘carve out the most beautiful memories’.

How long that lasts remains to be seen, given Caprile will be returning to Leeds in the summer unless the Italian side can sort out another deal.

Even if they can’t, it seems their time together has been a good one, to say the least, with Caprile earning plenty of admirers during his year in Italy.
