Bought for £13.5m from Granada back in 2016, Isaac Success has been anything but one for Watford, making 61 appearances over the past three and a half years for the Hornets, during which he scored just five goals and assisted another five.
Nigel Pearson’s arrival at Vicarage Road hasn’t helped his game time either, and there’s a chance the forward could end up leaving Watford in January, with multiple clubs interested in his services.
This is what Foot Mercato are reporting on Monday, claiming a number of Ligue 1 sides (including Nantes), Espanyol in Spain and CSKA Moscow are all looking to try and sign him this month.
In fact, an offer has already been made, with the Russian club ‘discussing a loan with a view to buy’ with the Hornets.
Not only that, but CSKA’s director of football is expected to be present at the FA Cup replay against Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday, where he will be looking to get the deal over the line with the Watford board.
A transfer story that has come a bit out of left field, but if it helps Success get his career back on track, then it might be one worth exploring depending on the finances involved.
