There’s been a few reports from Italy over the past week or so linking Tottenham with a potential swoop for Fernando Llorente.
It’s an obvious rumour given the nature of Harry Kane’s injury and that the Spaniard knows Spurs well. Leaving on a free transfer in the summer, there were no issues over his exit, and even claims Tottenham could sign the then free agent prior to his Napoli move in September.
Things haven’t gone well in Naples, and, much like many Serie A clubs, there’s impatience and an urge to quickly try something different.
AreaNapoli today cover claims from RAI (an Italian TV station) about Llorente.
He’s very much available and Tottenham have held ‘rough talks’ over his signing. Llorente ‘will have to be dismissed’ if Napoli are to bring in a new striker, so a new home ‘must be found’ for him this month.
Should that be achieved then Napoli can move for Krzysztof Piątek, who has also been linked Tottenham.
