We’re sure you’re aware of it at this point, but Antonio Cassano has taken up the role of a loudmouth, controversial pundit since retiring and now sees Tottenham’s Richarlison in his sights.
The striker is currently at the World Cup with Brazil, having been called up to the 26-man squad by Tite ahead of Roberto Firmino.
That was a decision Cassano wasn’t happy with at the time, criticising Brazil boss Tite for the decision to ignore the Liverpool man despite his better numbers this season.
The Tottenham striker has already gone some way to proving that decision was a smart one with his performance on Thursday, scoring both goals in the 2-0 win over Serbia.
The second of those was a superb, overhead effort in the 73rd minute that not only sealed the win but is arguably the goal of the tournament in Qatar so far.
It seems, though, Cassano was less than impressed, refusing to change his stance on the Tottenham man and instead standing by his opinion.
“Brazil has 25 wonderful footballers, but they lack one thing,” Tuttomercatoweb report him saying.
“Since I’m a person who doesn’t renounce anything, after what I’ve seen I confirm that for me Richarlison is rubbish.
“The stunt on the goal? The truth is that he missed the cutback and came up with that overhead. He has nothing to do with Brazilian strikers, and then he scored an empty goal.”
