The agent of Leeds United summer signing Caleb Ekuban has confirmed to the Italian media the forward was being tracked by clubs from Belgium, Turkey and Greece. The 23 year old recently joined the Championship side from Chievo Verona.

Speaking to TMW, Graziano Battistini was asked about the decision to sign for Leeds United after Ekuban’s season in Albania: “He went to Leeds. Partizan Tirana was a formative and important experience, it was better to look abroad than playing in Lega Pro. Caleb had an important experience, where he was seen by Leeds observers. He had requests from Belgium, Turkey and Greece.”

Ekuban signed for Leeds United earlier this month after impressing for Partizan Tirana last season. Whilst out on loan with the Albanian club he scored 17 goals, before returning to Chievo at the end of last season.

The forward is one a number of players to arrive at Elland Road this summer, and the club have clear ambitions to finally get promotion back to the Premier League. Garry Monk’s side just missed out on the playoffs last season, and Thomas Christiansen will want to go one better in the next campaign.

Ekuban is been joined by the likes of Felix Wiedwald, Samu Saiz, Mateusz Klich and Ezgjan Alioski at Leeds United this summer.
