Celta de Vigo director Felipe Miñambres has decided to face the press and respond to all the doubts about the club’s actions in the January transfer market.
As covered by La Voz De Galícia, the former player has claimed that he’s expecting one or two more signings, and doesn’t plan to sell any of the players in the current squad.
Miñambres has responded to questions about specific players, and one of these is Maximiliano Gomez and claims of West Ham interest.
“We are thinking that at this moment nobody is going to leave and we refer to the clause,” Felipe Miñambres told the local press.
Last week, Sport Witness was informed that Gomez could continue with the Spanish outfit beyond the winter transfer window, but interest from West Ham is genuine and not simply an invention of the rumour mill.
Now it seems the Hammers must pay the €50m release clause to get the player or wait for a better opportunity in the summer.
