With Newcastle United and other Premier League clubs getting heavily linked to the signing of Victor Osimhen this year, the Italian media is just waiting for the striker to leave Napoli in a big move.
Today Area Napoli brings the quotes from journalist Raffaele Auriema, who, on Radio Marte, points out that English sides should have no problem to take him out of the Serie A side this summer.
“If Osimhen continues to play like this, scoring a lot until the end of the season, there are some important Premier League clubs who need a centre forward, and, unfortunately, will not think twice about offering Aurelio De Laurentiis everything that the president will ask, as figures, to deprive himself of the Nigerian,” he said.
Newcastle have been pointed out as one of the most likely destinations for Osimhen this summer, as they’re expected to join the big fight for his signing.
This week, it’s been reported that a ‘senior official’ from the Magpies was present at Napoli’s game against Milan.
That was seen as a transfer mission for Newcastle to, perhaps, watch the striker in action some more, after reportedly making bids in January for his services.
Osimhen, who has 15 goals scored in 25 appearances for the Italian side this season, is valued by Trasnfermarkt at €60m, and it would be no surprise to see him moving for more than that.
A fee Newcastle, if they decide to spend big, shouldn’t have any problems reaching.
