After the AS claims of around an hour ago on Willian Jose to Tottenham, things have calmed a little.
For a recap, the story started on Tuesday in Diario Vasco, which is a newspaper local to Real Sociedad. They said Tottenham had made an offer for the striker, but it was far from a figure which would be deemed acceptable.
On Wednesday, the same newspaper then reported La Real wouldn’t hold the Brazilian back if an offer matching his value arrived. They suggested that was around €30m, but Spurs offer was put at less than half.
Given they have to give 30% of any transfer fee to the Stellar Group agency, and the difficulty of replacing a striker at this stage of the month, they weren’t thrilled with Tottenham’s approach.
Real Sociedad have now tweeted that the player won’t be involved against Espanyol tonight, replaced by Lobete from the youth squad.
The reason given is Willian Jose asking not to be picked until his situation is resolved.
