RKC Waalwijk general manager Frank van Mosselveld has shared his delight at securing a loan deal for Arsenal youngster Mika Biereth.
Biereth has joined the Eredivisie side on loan until the end of the season, with Arsenal keen to get him experiencing regular first-team football.
It will be the youngster’s first taste of life away from the Emirates, where he has been a regular for the U23 side since joining them from Fulham last year.
Last season saw him score 12 goals and register six assists in 26 games in all competitions, an impressive tally alongside his 25 goals and 15 assists in 37 games for Fulham before that.
He will now have to try and repeat that on the bigger stage away from Arsenal, with the Eredivisie a considerable step up compared to U23 level football.
It seems Waalwijk are confident he will do just that, though, with Mosselveld sharing his delight via the club’s official channels.
“We are very happy that we have been able to hire Mika,” he told them.
“With his talent and potential, he is one of the greatest talents of the Arsenal Academy and, therefore, a real opportunity for us.
“At RKC next season, he will have the opportunity to make minutes on a weekly basis. Eredivisie level and therefore to develop further.”
