Two days ago, Globo Esporte in Brazil reported Real Madrid’s negotiations for Neymar are getting hot and have joined Barcelona in the battle to sign the Paris Saint-Germain star.
‘Super offer from Florentino [Perez] to Neymar’ is splashed on the front page of Sport as Los Blancos president wants to ‘cover the forward in gold’.
Within the report, it’s explained Perez has proposed a five-year deal to Neymar, worth €40m per season.
However, the Brazilian hasn’t accepted Real’s offer because he’s still waiting for the La Liga winners. His desire is return to the Camp Nou.
Neymar’s decision to not react to Real Madrid’s offer has unsettled Perez. He is unable to digest the fact the player hasn’t responded to his dizzying proposal.
The attacker wants to leave PSG and currently has Barca and Real as the only options.
Real are closer to PSG and apart from offering €110m for Neymar, they are also ready to include their own players as part of the deal.
Barcelona’s relationship with PSG makes it even more difficult for them twist the Ligue 1 winners’ arm for the transfer.
Therefore, Barca want Neymar to go public about his desire to return to the club, which will help them to put pressure on PSG, but Neymar doesn’t want to do this because it will close the door to Real Madrid.
The window in Spain closes on September 2nd and the saga around Neymar is likely to drag on for the rest of this month.
