Real Madrid want to sign a striker his summer, and one of the names on their list is Arsenal striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.
The Spanish side believe that adding reinforcing their forward options is key this summer, despite the fact they already have Karim Benzema, Luka Jović and Mariano Díaz at the club.
Jović has disappointed since a big-money move in the summer, though, with Díaz has never been considered more than a backup option at the Bernabeu.
They are now actively looking at big-name signings for the summer, according to Sport, and Aubameyang is one being considered.
They report that as the striker is out of contract at Arsenal next summer, and currently has no intention of renewing; the Gunners will be ’obligated’ to sell this year.
While Madrid’s main targets for the position are Harry Kane and Erling Haaland, they ‘do not lose sight’ of Aubameyang either.
No price tag is mentioned but, the Spanish giants are considering including midfielder Dani Ceballos, who is currently on loan at the Emirates, as part of any deal to reduce his Aubameyang’s price tag.
They are not the only ones interested in the striker, with Barcelona also ‘closely following’ the situation.
In fact, Sport believes that they could ‘provoke a war’ between the two clubs to try and sign the Gabon international this summer.
