We thought we’d find something clearer regarding Reading’s chase for Benfica midfielder Alfa Semedo today, but it seems the situation remains the same.
Newspaper A Bola brings a story claiming the Royals ‘could be the destination’ for the 23-year-old, and are currently ‘waiting’ for him.
What are the Championship side waiting for? Well, that isn’t said. Just yesterday, O Jogo claimed Reading were pending authorisation from the FA to get the player on a loan deal.
So that remains a mystery, and we’ll have to keep an eye on the Portuguese media to see if they finally reveal what’s the issue holding up this signing.
Meanwhile, there’s also a part of the local press who believe Semedo is going elsewhere. Just like yesterday, Record writes once again today that Alfa Semedo should actually be on his way to France.
The midfielder isn’t in Jorge Jesus’ plans for the season, so seeing him leave Benfica this summer is just a matter of time. He has some Championship experience as he featured for Nottingham Forest last season.
