Southampton have tabled a bid of €30m plus €5m in objectives for Benfica forward Goncalo Ramos.
That’s according to Record, who detail the Saints efforts for the player today amid growing Premier League interest in the 21-year-old.
They say that Southampton are the ‘latest club interested’ in the services of Ramos, who has multiple suitors in England.
The newspaper explains that Rasmus Ankersen, Southampton’s main investor, recently spoke to Benfica’s sporting director Rui Costa about the deal when the Portuguese side travelled to Denmark to face Midtjylland earlier this month.
That led to a bid for the Portuguese forward, with a €30m plus €5m in objectives offer ‘on the table’.
Whether that’s enough for Southampton to get their man isn’t made clear, just that they’ve tabled a bid and there have been talks between their president and Rui Costa.
That puts them ahead of the likes of Newcastle and Everton, who are yet to make a formal bid but are also interested in the player.
