French side Dijon are interested in signing Rangers left-back Borna Barisic, according to reports this Wednesday.
Steven Gerrard didn’t count on Barisic as much as the player may have hoped last season, and it would appear he may have itchy feet.
Outlet Soccer Link claims that after avoiding relegation last season, Dijon are looking to make some important additions so they don’t struggle for another year.
With the departure of Oussama Haddadi to Saudi club Al-Ettifaq, they’re now looking for an upgrade in the left-back position, and Barisic seems to be the favourite target.
Soccer Link doesn’t report any talks between Dijon and Rangers for now, so it looks like the interest in the 26-year-old isn’t really advanced.
However, they also claim that the Croatian international is available to listen to ‘any offers’ that reach him this summer, which makes it sound like he’s looking for a way out of Ibrox.
It’s fair to say Barisic started his season pretty well, having made two assists in the Europa League clash against St Joseph’s FC, so maybe Gerrard thinks the player should stick around at Rangers for another campaign.
