It’s been only five months since Fabio Cardoso joined Glasgow Rangers, but it seems he’s already wanted back in his home country.

As reported by Portuguese newspaper A Bola today, Estoril are interested in signing him, even though the transfer is considered to be pretty hard to achieve.

The outlet claims that Cardoso is Estoril’s ‘dream’ for the transfer window, as he’s the number one priority to solve the club’s problems in defense.

They acknowledge he would be difficult to get because of the high wages he gets in Scotland, and also because he’s tied with a contract which runs until 2020.

Cardoso joined Rangers last summer on a move from Vitória Setúbal, with the Scottish side paying €1.5m for the transfer.

The defender had been playing regularly at Ibrox Stadium at the start of the season, but only has 45 minutes on the pitch since breaking his nose in October.

Maybe the Portuguese sides are taking Pedro Caixinha’s departure as an argument that the defender would leave Rangers more easily, but as A Bola says, the transfer is only a dream for now.
