Rangers FC are one of the clubs who are keeping an eye on Arouca striker Antony, according to reports from the Portuguese media today.
Newspaper A Bola writes that the 20-year-old has been standing out in some recent games, and that’s drawing the attention of clubs from abroad.
Rangers and Basel are two of them, with both having gathered reports about his ‘evolution’ in his first season in Portugal.
Antony, who’s Brazilian, actually belongs to Joinville, and is loaned to Arouca until 2023, meaning that in case the Ibrox side actually go for his signing, it’s still not clear which club would they need to negotiate with.
Antony has two goals in 17 appearances for Arouca this season. He’s been mostly coming off the bench, as he only started four of those games.
That’s a reason for us to believe that Rangers and Giovanni van Bronckhorst are just keeping an eye on the young talent for now, as he’s clearly only showing his first glimpses of talent in European football.
