Since the end of last season, there’s been repeat rumours about the future of Manchester United fullback Diogo Dalot.
With the 22-year-old being Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s second option for his position, he was many times linked with a move to Italy, with recent reports insisting that José Mourinho would like to take him to Roma.
It turned out that Dalot won a starting place at Old Trafford following the arrival of manager Ralf Rangnick, and according to fresh reports from Portugal, the player’s status at the club has now changed.
Newspaper O Jogo today brings a piece claiming the German boss wants to ‘keep the bet’ on the Portuguese fullback and hold him in the team, blocking his move in January.
O Jogo and other Portuguese newspapers don’t often bring Premier League stories like this, referring to ‘their sources’, so it’s always interesting when we get to see information coming from there.
The outlet points out that besides Roma, the likes of Milan, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig have all been recently linked to Dalot as well. The player, however, is now said to be ‘armoured’ by Rangnick.
