Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest could now be set to miss out on Marcos Acuna after seeing bids for him rejected by Sevilla.

That’s according to Vamos Mi Sevilla, who say there has been a ‘radical turn’ in the situation around the Argentine full-back.

They report that after reports yesterday that the player looked likely to be on his way to Nottingham Forest, a transfer that appeared out of nowhere, the latest information suggests that will not be happening.

Acuna has been linked with a move away from Sevilla over the past few weeks, with Aston Villa initially pushing to secure his signature.

That deal was stumbling along as talks between the two clubs weren’t very amicable but there were confident reports Villa would get the deal done.

Then Nottingham Forest appeared out of nowhere yesterday, with it reported they’d made a late bid and were likely to get a deal done.

That is wide of the mark according to Vamos Mi Sevilla, though, who say the latest information on the matter is that both Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest have seen their offers rejected by Sevilla.

The Spanish side reportedly believe the bids they’ve received are ‘insufficient’ and seemingly nowhere close to what they are looking for.

Indeed, those demands, coupled with a recent injury that will see the player absent for several weeks, mean it is now more likely he will remain at Sevilla than move to the Premier League.
