Back on Thursday, Portuguese outlet O Jogo revealed that Nottingham Forest placed a €15m bid for Porto fullback Zaidu.

The early report didn’t have a lot more information on the pursuit, just making it clear the Reds were making a strong attempt to sign the 26-year-old.

Now as newspaper Record features a story on this chase, it’s claimed that Nottingham Forest expect for the ‘white smoke’ following their bid.

It’s said the Tricky Trees have been interested in Zaidu since July, and after this ‘long process’, they are ‘committed to signing him’.

Record claims there’s still no response from Porto. They still need a sale before the end of the transfer window, but with manager Sergio Conceição considering the fullback a crucial piece in the squad, there’s a big doubt about whether they should be accepting the bid or not.

The outlet highlights that it’s agent Jorge Mendes who’s taking care of the negotiations, and it’s said that the next few days could be decisive.

It’s important to recall that this morning, the Spanish media said Nottingham Forest have a ‘practically closed’ deal with Sevilla for the transfer of Marcos Acuña, and it sounds unlikely they’d sign two left-backs. So we shall see how the situation develops.
