In December, Chilean newspaper El Mercurio reported Claudio Bravo was considering his future.
It was claimed that last summer the Manchester City goalkeeper had the chance to move to PSG or RB Leipzig, but turned the options down as he thought he’d be able to fight for a place with Ederson.
A source close to the player was quoted as saying: “He still feels he has the conditions to play in maximum level, making his priority to stay in Europe.”
In March, another Chilean newspaper, La Cuarta, reported ‘PSG have Claudio Bravo in their sights’.
Again, a source close to the player was quoted: “If Bravo leaves England, he would go to a club as important as City, with pretensions to achieve titles. In that sense, the PSG option attracts him a lot, because it’s a great project in that institution. They’ve been following him for some time and in the past there were some approaches to have him.”
It seemed some kind of PR on behalf of the goalkeeper, with his standing in Chile at the time being incredibly shaky after he knocked back an international call-up.
Friday’s edition of the same newspaper talks up interest from Boca Juniors. The Argentine club have recently been linked with Gigi Buffon, who is retiring anyway, and Bravo could be an option.
A senior source at club is quoted as saying: “The Chilean is one of the candidates on our list, because he meets all the requirements we need for the position. He has quality, personality and has played World Cups.”
La Cuarta say it’s not the Manchester City player’s idea to leave England right now, but he could be tempted by a club like Boca.
