It’s probably not too harsh to say Abdenasser El Khayati’s time at QPR was something of a failure.

Arriving from Burton Albion, the attacker wasn’t able to have enough of an impact for QPR, and his days were quickly numbered.

Having initially moved to ADO Den Haag on loan,El Khayati signed a three year contract with the Dutch club this summer, after seeing his QPR contract terminated by mutual consent.

Despite the QPR woes, Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf believe the transfer benefitted both El Khayati, and by extension ADO Den Haag too.

Two goals in a Man of the Match performance against Willem at the weekend have caught the attention, and De Telegraaf have managed a few words with the player.

“The period in England made me more defensive. I have this as an advantage now being a player of ADO.”

At least the QPR move worked out for somebody then. At 28 years of age, El Khayati will be looking to impress enough to have a long term future at ADO, or perhaps even catch the eye of a team willing to pay more.
